How personalised is it?

Very. Every story is written from scratch using your child's actual name, what they look like, their hometown, and what they love. We don't swap a name into a template — the story is genuinely built around your child. No two Makesake books are ever the same.

What age is it for?

Ages 2–10. You choose the reading level when you build your book. Toddler books use simple words and short sentences. Books for older readers get richer language and more complex ideas. Every book works as a read-aloud regardless of age.

How long does it take?

Your free preview is ready in about 10–15 minutes. PDF downloads are delivered to your inbox within a few hours of ordering. Printed books are produced and shipped within 3–5 business days.

Can I add my child's drawing?

Yes — and it's one of the most magical things we do. Upload anything they've drawn and we paint it into every illustration as their companion character, appearing alongside them throughout the whole story.

Can I upload a photo of my child, or a special person like Dad or Grandma?

Yes, both are optional. Upload a clear photo of your child and their illustrated appearance in the book will genuinely resemble them, rather than being built from a text description. On our Father's Day, Mother's Day and Grandparents' Day books, you can do the same for the special person the book is about. Either way, you can skip it and just describe them instead — the book works beautifully either way.

What happens to a photo after I upload it?

It's used once, to paint the very first cover illustration so they genuinely resemble their photo, and then it's permanently deleted — usually within minutes, and automatically within 2 hours at the very most. Every other page in the book reuses that painted cover as its reference, never the original photo again.

Is it safe to upload a photo of my child or another family member?

Yes. Every photo is automatically checked for a clear face and inappropriate content before it's used. It's sent only to our illustration AI to generate the artwork, kept in a private location the whole time, and deleted for good the moment it's been used — real photos get much stronger protection than the rest of your story details. If you're uploading a photo of someone other than yourself or your own child (like Dad or Grandma), please make sure you have their okay to use it first.

What if I'm not happy with it?

Preview your story completely free before spending anything — that's your guarantee. If you order a printed book and it arrives damaged or falls genuinely short of a reasonable standard, contact us within 14 days and we'll make it right with a free regeneration, replacement, or store credit.

Is my child's information safe?

Yes. We use the details you provide only to write and illustrate your book. We don't sell data, don't share it with advertisers, and don't use it to train AI. Story data is automatically deleted after 21 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Do you ship to Australia?

Yes — we ship printed books across Australia. PDF downloads are available worldwide and delivered instantly by email.
